SLEEP-OVER:
Bring your own sleeping gear and food (you can buy cake, coffee, tea and soft drinks, but no sandwiches). Free dinner is served Saturday night.
Sleep-over in your own tent or tipi.

A powwow is a Native American social gathering with singing and dancing held today in USA and Canada. As a tribute, powwows are also held in several European countries, including Denmark.
Powwows have been held in Denmark since the late 1980'ies, based on friendships formed between Danes and members of the Lakota nations of South Dakota. At the powwow, the dancers wear dance regalia respectfully crafted according to contemporary Native American traditions. Danish powwows are small social events with exhibition dancing and no competitions. Over the years, several Native Americans from different tribes have attended and expressed their support.

Outdoor powwow set in the beautiful Danish countryside. The powwow is on Saturday, but you are welcome to arrive on Friday for a cosy afternoon and evening start-up.
The Aarhus Powwow is organized by the Jysk Powwow Committee with support from a large number of volunteers, who lend a helping hand.
Outdoor venue:
Eagleroad kursuscenter
Krogdalsvej 10, Skanderborg
Admission fee: 75 DKK for all peple older than 12 years (free admission for helpers, singers and dancers in regalia).
You can buy cake, coffee, tea, water and soft drings (no sandwiches).
Note: payment in cash, no credit cards.

Exhibition of different dance styles by dancers in regalia and social dancing for everybody (intertribals, round dances, rabbit dances).

After the powwow, Jysk Powwow Commitee sponsors dinner served to all who wish to stay and socialize.
Alcohol and drugs are not allowed.
